It is possible that (non-human) intelligent life has had some involvement in human history, evolution or the creation of the universe, although there is no evidence for this.
Scientists and computer (video) game designers try to simulate reality, often in an attempt to understand it better. As our technology improves, these simulations become increasingly complex. At some point in the future, intelligence will evolve witin one of these simulations.
If we assume that any intelligent life will try to simulate its own evolution, then it is possible that our reality lies somewhere along one of these chains of simulation. One could even argue that this is more likely than us being at the start of such a chain.
Applying Occam's Razor (the simplest explanation is the most likely), there is no point in assuming the existence of a creator without evidence, although it is still a possibility. However, when discussing the formation of the universe it is hard to choose the simplest explanation. The formation of everything from nothing is as equally incomprehensible as everything having existed forever.
