If someone says the words "pile on", such as "put that pile on the floor", or a homonym, such as "pylon", they become the target of a pile-on.
Anyone who hears the target say this must shout "pile on!" as loudly as possible and then pull the target to the ground. Anyone who becomes aware that a pile-on has started must also shout "pile on!" as loudly as possible before jumping on top of the increasingly large pile of people.
There are a number of strategies for tricking others into saying "pile on", for example "can you think of anything that rhymes with nylon?"
